can someone help with a query.

now there is a law stating that brother and sister shouldn't share the same bedroom after a certain age AFAIK it's 7-8 years old.

the question has arisen with my mother and two sisters.

they all live together and are lookinh into moving property but the property they have seen is only 2 bedrooms 1 for my mother and the other to share is my sisters.

what age limits etc for sisters sharing a room at a certain age. i myself would not of thought this was a problem but they seem to think there maybe some sort of a law or something.

There is as far as rented accomodation goes, no male and female aged twelve, or over, should have to sleep in the same room, unless they are living together as ‘husband and wife’. It is covered by The Housing Act 1985 (sections 324-326 and 358-364) if you want to do a search on the internet.

It is mainly to prevent landords from allowing property to be overcrowded.

I dont think there is a law as such preventing siblings from staying in the same room. As far as I'm aware, the way it works is that you would have a valid case for alternative accommodation on the grounds of overcrowding if there are 2 different sex siblings over 11 sharing a room.
