Wazza fyi, I had a 910 but got a refund as the unit was too heavy for the in car mount and it would tip forward slightly and stop charging, which in turn would cause it to turn off and on again. I have a 510 now and it's brilliant. :)

see my previous post ref 910's - they spent £498 on the unit and £1.00 on the mount - a real pity since the unit was good - LB's recommended Asus beats it hands down at half the price....
I had a chat with Wazza yesterday morning and explained about the cradle situation...i have to say that was the one thing that ruined the unit for me...
I've bought a TomTom Rider for the new bike. Good package comes with it too, including a car mount. Have had no probs with it so far.

Eeeeeeeeeek just switched it on and it only wanted me to read and do everything in Norwegian ... I learned dead quickly... it wanted to do everything in that language. Phew after a few panic moments I found the English bits and phew...now downloading the latest softwear... why is technology so complicated... and so slow on dial up grrrrrr

I have rigged it all up, its small, efficient and works just great and it is well fitted in the corner of my window at the bottom just resting on the dash and NO Hanging problems, in my car as it rests on the dash.. but I do see what you mean it does fall on the ball joint, and does need to rest on something.

Wazza - I don't think you should let it rest on the dash if you can help it - these units have a hard drive, and the thing thats most likely to shorten its life is vibration or bumps, that will be transmiitted to the unit if its resting there - thats why I got rid of mine - I also looked at the 'resting' option....
I was thinking something similar

I have now resolved the docking problem... My tomtom no longer falls forward.. It was so simple and I feel a bit of a twit.. Following advice from tomtom.. I simply turned the docking housing a further few turns to the right and it got tighter and tighter and now its as tight as a tight thing.
The rubber mount goes on the eindow and you turn the plastic ring to tighten it up, it goes to the first mark and it locks to the window.. keep turning it and the ball joint gets tightened up and BINGO its all hunky Dory and works just fine.
