Now the new laws are in allowing police to impound cars of driver causing distress or alarm what are the thoughts.

I have no issues with this as long as all officers are equal in their thoughts.

But there are some right b's out there and if I was to say overtake agressively or "honk my horn" in an agressive way could I find my car impounded.

How is this going to become objective and subjective and equal to all ?

We are meant to have rules around speed cameras but they are still hiding behind signs ! :bang:

Dave.

Ps this aint a go at anybody but just confused how a law could be introduced which is so subjective ?

At the moment I couldnt comment.....I am not at work till next week and have not been given the update on how this law is going to be applied....

Hopefully one of the other residents here can shed some more light.

If you havent read the details...theres a thread in the Specialist departments/faq section. But until i know any more theres not much I can say on it sorry!

Thanks for that ..... at least I can read the full info on it.

Its is just the fact that some officers I have come across in the past tar all fast cars with the same brush .... thats what worries me

Dave.

Yeah it does on the face of it seem to be a worrying prospect, but as with most new laws, they get updated very quickly with stated cases, which are when people go to court and the judge makes decisions as to the outcome. These then affect the way that the law is applied.

Thankfully most Police officers are level headed and use discretion wisely and apply the law with common sense.

We will keep that section updated and I'll ensure we get the latest on it in there when I know more.

What about the incidents where drivers were pulled over for eating/drinking whilst stationary at traffic lights....imagine getting your car confiscated for that :o :x

I would hope that common sense would prevail.

As long as it gets twazzocks off the road who are shaving / applying make-up / reading the newspaper...even if they just sit them at the side of the road for 30 minutes to make a point...
