surrey solicitors ?

Evening :)

Looking for a bit of help. Summons received for speeding, pleading guilty (cos i am !) and the case is in early Jan.

Now this gives me under a month to find a decent solicitor (nice timing of year :( ) and was wondering if anyone knows of a decent solicitor in the surrey area ? as my hearing is in redhill.

Another q regarding this though is one of my mates has previously attended the same court and used the duty solicitor, he said he was pretty good.

Is it worth using the duty guy or is it worth getting my case sorted earlier with a "non" duty one?.

I`m not looking for ways to get off or anything like that just to try and barter the ban/points/fine thing so my case shouldn`t be too complicated.

Also the court says that the quicker i enter a guilty plea the lower the penalty, is this true or just a ploy to make sure you send the docs back asap ?

The duty solicitor will be one of the least experienced of the various local ones, picked on a rota. Like eveything else in life, some are good, some are rubbish. Best make an appointment, that way you should get someone a bit better. Or not.......

you can also phone the law society - they have a helpline (although I dont have the number!) - they can advise on local solicitors which particular specialities.

I now have a solicitor and i`m going to plead by post with supporting documents from the solicitor.

I`ll let you know how i get on.

Hmm weird that then as i have an option to plead guilty by post and not appear.

Would have thought that i was up for some sort of ban as i was exceeding the limit by 39mph.

Ah well, i`ll have a word with my solictor about that then
