Just realised a dream tonight. One of the WYIOC lads turned up at the local meet in his Evo 8 MR FQ340 and he allowed me the honour of driving it.

Now in the past i have been fortunate to drive some fairly exotic tackle but i can say beyond any shadow of a doubt that this is THE best car i have ever driven.

Loads of room inside, lovely seats and driving position, nice neat grippy little steering wheel. Fabulous build quality.

The engine and power delivery is incredibly smooth with mind warping acceleration on tap and zero lag.

Handling (on a wet road) was sublime with the active YAW dialling out oversteer. It is genuinely user friendly.

I have never had a car inspire me with such confidence.

If you get the opportunity to drive one just do it.

Paul.

Yes Steve we all heard you go past.:D

There must have been 20 Scoobs there last night and 3 mega tasty Evos.

The one i drove is Gunmetal grey and although it is standard it looks modded, with a fantastic throaty exhaust note, front mounted intercooler and carbon detailing on the exterior as well as the interior.

Driving it the noise was a mixture of air being sucked in the front and forced out the back mingled with the rasp of the engine on full boost (described by Knobby as sounding like a jet boat).

It is so damn quick that you have to re-adjust your brain to drive it hard. The brakes are so good but progressive in feel that it re-arranges your internal organs when you stand on the pedal.

When it passed me on my way home i had the window down on the M62 and it sounded like a Jumbo was landing next to me.Unbelievable noise!

Quick Steph,sell the house,sell the fridge,sell the dog,sell EVERYTHING!!!!

I WANT ONE !

Come on Paul, i've been telling you for years. I've wanted one for ages but you told me scoobs were better and cheaper to run. Bugger the expense! When i get one i might just let you have a go, if yr a good boy :p

I had a play with one at bruntingthorpe last year so i was able to give it some more beans than i would of on the roads (onist wazza). I completely agree with paul and they are great fun to drive and certainly flatter your driving ablitity macking me look (and to quote Top Gears Richard Hamilton) like a Driving God, when the facts remain i'm only average.

The only question for me would be what happens if you 'giving it some' thro a bend and the electrics fail ? On a imprezza, escort cosworth or integralle this isn't a problem ..... but then they don't handle as well
