now, I'm gonna try my hardest not to go off on one about this, but tbh I might slip up cos there is no other law in the land that infuriates me more than this one.
As you may or may not know, I am a raver. I started listening to the music in 96, and I started going to raves in 99. Recently I have started putting on house parties, nothing serious, just if a friend has a free house, I sort out DJs, MCs, sound system and party people for the night. I've done four sofar, all have been a good crack. However, what I really want to do is put an outdoor party. However because of the wonderful :| CJA I cannot without risking my mates losing their soundsystem and me getting a 20k fine. To say its upsetting me would be an understatement. I dont want to put on Castle Moreton, just get around 60 people together and have an all night outdoor party in a secluded location. The night would consist of spinning some tunes and having some cans.
I've looked into various ways of getting around it, and to be honest its soooo convoluted that its not worth the hassle. Or the risk.
Even if I have permission from the landowner, I cant let the police know cos it opens up the landowner for prosecution for allowing an "illegal rave" on his land. Its ****ing me off in extreme. All I want to do is put on a party for me mates to have a good time and the DJs to play out to a small crowd. I wont be inviting everyone, just my friends. Is there ANY way I can get away with having an outdoor party without risking prosecution/equipment confiscation/massive fines?
Hope you can help out,
astraboy.
