it seems by 2007/8 the safety camera partnership will just be a bad memory as Alistair Darling has announced that money raised by speed camera's will no longer go back into more speed camera's but into a central fund that local authorities can apply to for money towards road safety investment
as the SCP was set up to administrate "netting off" once the new system is set up the SCP will have no purpose

this is not the end of speed camera's but local authorities who wish to use the money for camera's will have to prove they will improve road safety

and at least the money raised will go to a good cause "Road Safety" and to locations where it is needed:tup:

well it was in the MCN but before someone says "oh that old rag" i did a bit of digging and found it to be true

please read GNN (http://www.gnn.gov.uk/environment/fullDetail.asp?ReleaseID=181915&NewsAreaID=2&NavigatedFromDepartment=False)

its good to see camera sites will have to show high accident figures for 5 years previous instead of the current 3 with improved signing and also speed limit and camera signs together
